The Storyhippo Schools Programme runs on the first three days of the Festival – 27th September – 29th September 2017. It presents specially designed sessions for age groups between 6 – 18 years. The programme includes poetry, dance, storytelling, book discussions, puppetry, arts and crafts, read alouds and a variety of workshops carefully designed to fit each of the age group categories.
The Storyhippo Program extends into the weekend (30th September & 1st October), when children and families are expected to participate in specially designed programs for Family, that include theatre, art, music, poetry, readings and book launches.

The 2017 Creativity Contest
In the prefestival period, schools and children aged 6-18 years of age can participate in the 2017 Creativity Contest which has an Illustration, and a Creative Writing Category. The theme of the Contest is Black Peace.
