The Goethe-Institut Johannesburg with Simon Njami – writer and independent curator, initiated the prestigious Photographers’ Master Class in 2008, as a forum for African photographers to meet with museum directors and independent curators to critically engage with their own and others’ work.

During this year’s closed workshop, the Goethe-Institut Nairobi together with the Storymoja Literary Festival, will be hosting a public panel discussion with curators and photographers. The panel conversation will consider storytelling through the medium of photography, while also exploring different methods in which photographers narrate story.
